A Manual Medicine Approach to the Treatment and Management of Headache and Migraine

International Manual Medicine Dr Jon Marshall (Melbourne, Australia)

This hybrid program combines concise online learning with an intensive two-day practical seminar in Auckland. The pre-course online modules cover essential anatomy, pathophysiology, and clinical reasoning for headache and migraine, providing a strong theoretical foundation and an ongoing reference.

The in-person seminar focuses on assessment, palpation, and hands-on manual techniques designed to improve diagnostic accuracy and treatment precision for complex headache presentations.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Conduct a comprehensive, clinically relevant case history for headache and migraine patients

  • Perform targeted regional examinations of the cervical, thoracic, and cranial regions

  • Apply safe and evidence-informed myofascial, articulatory, and dry needling techniques

  • Integrate osteopathic and manual medicine principles into patient management

  • Incorporate exercise, posture, and education strategies for sustained outcomes
